Shop Now » Shepherd Song is a small family sheep and goat farm in Northwest Wisconsin. We started in 1988 with 15 ewes and the enthusiastic encouragement of 2 Belgian Sheepdogs, Dia and Tye. By the year 2000, our family had grown to approximately 400 breeding ewes, 100 breeding does and 6 llamas. Shepherd Song is owned by Judy and Larry, We have two adult children, daughter Tove, and son Niels; two grandchildren, Brody and Beria; and of course the border collie Mist and guardian dogs.
We raise lambs & goats traditionally, humanely and sustainably. Our 100% grass fed USDA lamb and goat meat is sold nationally online and served at local restaurants. We believe pasture-raised is absolutely, without a doubt, better for the animals, better for the environment, better for your health — which is better for you!
Our lambs and goats grow naturally on Wisconsin meadows. The cool northern summers of the upper Midwest result in outstanding pastures that produce premium, lean lamb meat and goat meat in a healthy environment. We do not confine our livestock to stalls, on concrete or in feedlots. They live in the open air and sunshine. Our sheep and goats live according to their natures in a relaxed outdoor setting, browsing and grazing food sources in the constant company of others of their species. Quality of life for our animals is one of our main values.

We are committed to the humane care and handling of our livestock from birth to slaughter. This type of farming is a way of life. It includes deliberate choices that support our pastures and woods, and the soils and aquifers. The management of our farm also embodies our respect for unhurried cycles of nature. Our livestock is fed no grains, nor other feed additives to speed growth. Our lambs and kids take significantly longer to grow than grain-fed. For us and our customers, the goat and lamb meat proves well worth the wait
